Colby was a very special boy to LVLR. He was sprung from a high kill shelter and brought into our foster care. He came to us not liking cats at all and being very unsure about male dogs. He had one unsuccessful adoption and after that return, he was a little freaked out. A great woman in Washington that had both male dogs and cats applied for him stating there was just something that called to her.

Well, she was more than right. A short flight up there and he has found HIS home. He loves his brothers and his new life in the beautiful Northwest.

Colby's new mom has written the following after a few short days with her new boy.

Last night since everyone was getting along I decided to go to bed. As I've posted before my dogs sleep on the bed with me. Well Otis and Jake always have a "place" and if they don't get that place....long night.

Jake and Otis get up on the bed, Colby didn't know how to jump or climb the stairs. He kept walking around and around. Finally decided to jump..all four feet at the same time.

He laid down....found his "spot". I have Jake across the bottom, Otis on my left stretched out with full body contact against me and now Colby on my right. He needed to have something touching me and kept lifting his head to look at me. I was watching tv somewhat and watching the dynamics going on. Pretty soon all I hear was snoring from all three and with Colby *snuffing* against my jaw.

Then this weird noise.......yes it is raining very hard and I was wondering what was loose outside hitting the house. Put TV on mute and listened harder......thump, thump, thump....over and over.

What the???? My mind went to those stupid scary stories that were always told to kids around the campfire.....

thump, thump, thump.....

Lifted my head a bit, cuz I didn't want to disturb Colby who's head was on my shoulder and with the light from the tv followed his body length down.

He was completely sound asleep......with his tail wagging, making a loud thumping noise on the edge of the bed.

The following are pics of Colby from his foster home, and into his new wonderful life!
