This sweet girl also has a very sad story to tell - yet again, another great ending!

Maddy was an owner surrender in the worst way. They brought her into the vet because she was having some minor illness (eye infection, itchy skin types of things). When the vet diagnosed her with mild allergies, they decided instead of having to deal with it, they would just put her to sleep.

They signed the paperwork and off they went. My vet called us (I was out of town) and said this girl was 100% healthy, sweet, trained.. she just didn't want to put her down. Of course, as soon as we got back in town, we went and picked her up and brought her into our foster home.

We had Maddy for a few weeks when one family after the other kept falling through or not working out for this sweet girl. Then one weekend, my mother in law called to say hello and in the midst of our conversation ,she casually asked how Maddy was doing. I told her the story and how awesome the foster home said she was. She asked if she had any solid leads and if not, she'd like to meet her.

I immediately hung up, called Jill (foster mom) and asked her if she could bring Maddy out to her. About 2 hours later, we brought Maddy to her house. It was love at first sight. We left her there as we had a birthday party to go to. We were giving Maddy a "trial run" at her house.

We called once later that day and then again first thing in the morning and it was as if Maddy had been there forever! She just immediately fitted right in to her new mom's routine and they just loved each other as much as they could.  Things are still going awesome and we have gone over there a few times and gotten some great pics of her.

Maddy is a beautiful three year old chocolate female Labrador.  She is intelligent, well behaved, completely house trained and so gentle with my grandkids.

Maddy came to be part of my life via a very special lady - Lisa.  I have known Lisa for over a decade.  She was a special friend to my daughter and grand daughter, and then became a good friend to my son.  She made my son happier than I had ever seen him so it is no wonder that she is now my daughter-in-law!

Lisa is also the founder of The Las Vegas Labrador Rescue and works very hard to keep everyone informed about these beautiful animals that she rescues and takes such good care of.  Her web site is filled with pictures of her dogs and information about everything you can imagine.  I have to admit that I don't spend that much time online because I am online all day long at work.  For whatever reason, I went to her web site one evening and staring me in the face was the cutest chocolate lab.  I did not call immediately because I was not sure I wanted to get a dog right now.  A few days went by and during a conversation with my son I happened to ask if they still had Maddy.  That was the end of my life without Maddy.  The next day she came to visit with her foster Mom, Jill.  Jill had taken such good care of Maddy.  She was healthy again and I instantly fell in love with her.  She fits into my life perfectly.  We take walks in the evenings and then go home and swim.  Yes, she loves the water - imagine that.

So you see, Lisa has blessed my life in so many ways, and I thank her for the wonderful work she does with the Rescue.  If it were not for her, I would not have this wonderful dog in my life!!
