Roxy's Story -
Roxy
was abandoned in her home. Her family moved out and just
left her at the house. A friend of the family's emailed
us and we immediately brought her in. Roxy was very
timid of everything at first, really unsure about
everything and everybody.
We brought
her in, had our vet check her out, got her spayed and
began getting Roxy used to the life she deserves. A
family in North Carolina saw her face and couldn't get
it out of their mind. Once their application was
approved, they began the process of getting her out
there.
Due to the
heat, she could not fly out of Las Vegas, so our
southern California foster home, Andrea, took her home
with her and flew her from there. After a 4.5 hour
flight, she was finally home! The following was written
by Amber of their experience with adopting sweet Roxy.
The
moment we saw her pictures, we knew we had to have
her. We weren't looking for another dog, but we
couldn't not add Roxy to our family! After planning
for her trip to us, she was set! We were anxiously
awaiting the arrival of our new girl! Sadly, that
night I received a phone call saying that they
wouldn't allow her on the plane because of the Las
Vegas heat. We were devastated. As luck would have
it, a wonderful LVLR foster, Andrea, was in Las
Vegas to pick up another pup and was unable to do
so, so she volunteered to take our Roxy back to
California with her to fly her out from there!
Finally, after her long awaited arrival, Roxy came
home on May 18th! Right away, her
brother Luc and she got along wonderfully! It took
them awhile to play with each other, but they are
slowly playing more and more each day! Roxy's
favorite thing to do is fetch, and she is a maniac
about it! Anytime of the day she will drop that
ball or other toy at your feet until you throw
it…even 3am! The moment she notices you are awake
(even if it is to roll over!) she is in your face
kissing you and shoving that toy to your face! If
we would let her, she would fetch until it killed
her. She is the sweetest, most loving dog always
ready to cover you excitedly in doggy kisses! She
is quickly finding her spot in our family and we
love having her here. We are very fortunate to have
been able to add Roxy to our family!
