This adorable goofball was abandoned at a local vets office. His family dropped him off for boarding in the beginning of January and never came back for him. This animal hospital contact Las Vegas Labrador Rescue early in April to see if we had room for this sweet guy.

Once we had a space open in our foster home, we went and picked him up. A very generous volunteer (The family that adopted Guinness) drove all the way to Las Vegas to pick him up and take him to his foster home in Southern California (Andrea and Glen). They had him for about a week, when I got an email from a family here in Las Vegas that was interested in adopting him.

Once their application and home visit were approved, we arranged adoption. Since he was in Southern California, they made arrangements to meet our foster family the first Friday in May to pick him up halfway.

Below is the story they have written about their experience with LVLR and adopting Steve-O.

After losing our seven year old lab to a horrible sickness, we had talked about getting a new brother or sister to keep our six year old, Suzi, company.  Our family was missing a piece.  It was missing a big black dog. When we learned about the lab rescue, we jumped at the opportunity.

Steve-o is a joy.  He is loving, energetic, and gets along beautifully with Suzi.  They run and wrestle like they have been lifelong friends. We cannot keep him out the pool either.  Steve-o likes to get in and swim laps for the fun of it.  No tennis ball needed.

Las Vegas Lab Rescue gave us the gift of a new friend and family member.  Thank you for giving us Steve-o.
