Tank was a very special case to us. He was an owner surrender due to not having the time for him. When we met him to pick him up, he showed his lack of socialiation. He lunged forward at us in fear.

We gave him some time to warm up to us and after about 15 minutes of getting down on his level, he allowed his foster family to take him down the street and walk him around. By the time they left, he was definitely fine with all of us.

It took a few weeks of patience and constant love to show Tank that everybody that was new was NOT bad and that they weren't all out to get him.

He had a ton of applications come in on him, some checked out well on paper but were not the right fit for him at the home visit.

One application in particular stuck out to us. We brought him over for the home visit and it was like he knew this was where he was supposed to be. He fit in from day 1. We saw him a few weeks after the adoption at our rescue reunion and he happily ran into the park filled with 30 other dogs and at least 30 strangers, he didn't bark once and ran around like the typical Labrador puppy he was wanting to be.

Tank's new family is writing his VERY happy tail, so stay tuned!
