This sweet puppy was dropped off at the vet after falling out of the back of the owners truck and breaking her leg. The vet fixed her up, spayed her and boarded her until she was 100% healed. This happened in Northern Colorado, a friend of ours who is a rescue hero, took her in and fostered her while we arranged transport to Las Vegas.

Once she got here, poor Vegas had an awful experience with an adoption gone bad and was tossed back into foster care for about another week. During that time, the stress from all the change was too much and she became lethargic and sick. She couldn't keep any food in and didn't have much of an appetite. Our awesome foster home (Kim and Gary), put her on an all rice and hamburger diet and nursed her back to her normal frisky self!

A family had been interested in her and when they heard the adoption didn't go through, they were extremely happy. After a wonderful home visit, she met our foster home and brought home this sweet girl. They have since renamed her Vegas and she is loving her new life!

The following was written by Vegas' new family!

On April 10th, 2006, my friend Lorrie and I met with Vegas and her foster mom Kim in Henderson.  After many e-mails, phone calls, and rushing to get the process done with as quick as possible (I drove Lisa crazy), the day finally came.

Vegas has captured my husband's and my heart since the first time she stepped inside our home.  She is a typical lab, digging in the yard, swimming, and chewing everything she can.  She has managed to make friends with her brother Freddy, who scares everyone, and with Azzy.

We are happy to say that Vegas is part of our family!

Thanks to Lisa and everyone who made this possible.
